june 9, 1927 - october 10, 2007
yesterday afternoon i called my dad to check in on him and see how he was doing... i was interrupting his sponge bath, which we joked about, and told him i would call him back later in the day. a few hours later, he wasn't feeling well and asked his doctor for some pain medication. by the time the doctor brought it back to him, he had passed away peacefully. i didn't get a chance to say goodbye to him, but it helps knowing that he knew i was thinking of him in his last hours.
the funeral is on tuesday. i can barely type that without crying. the loss and pain is overwhelming and indescribable. i'll miss you daddy. tell grandma and grandpa i said hello...

So sorry to hear of your loss. He did his job here on earth well, though, judging by how well his daughter turned out.
